Cleanliness & Safety

Our team at the BOplex has always strived to deliver safe and memorable experiences for our visitors and staff. We want our guests to have sound peace of mind when stepping foot in our venue and visibly see the commitment we have made to maintaining exceptional, health-conscious conditions.

Patron Guidelines & FAQs

After thorough examination and research of global best practices and CDC guidelines, we have created the following protocols to present our events in a safe manner. This is not an “all-inclusive” plan, rather potential strategies, as the health & safety landscape evolves and more data and recommendations become available. Additional policies and practices may be enforced on a event-by-event basis. Specific event requirements will be communicated via email to ticket holders and through social media updates. We thank you for your support.

Patron Arrival Procedure FAQs

After thorough examination and research of global best practices and CDC guidelines, we have created the following potential strategies and will readjust as reopening progresses and more data becomes available.

What measures is the Bojangles Entertainment Complex taking to provide for guests’ safety?

We have evolved our cleaning and safety measures to meet the demands of the current health landscape. We’ve rewritten our protocols to a standard we call “We Clean with Care” which translates to rigorous measures involving sanitizing and disinfecting our venues with increased frequency and implementing new personal safety best practices.

Bojangles Entertainment Complex venues are GBAC STAR Accredited facilities, which ensures implementation of the industry’s highest standards for cleaning and disinfection. Training has been provided to all employees and is ongoing according to established guidelines provided by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and Mecklenburg County Health Department.

Our staff and third-party partners are continually reminded of the proper steps necessary through frequent handwashing and staying at home if he/she recognizes any symptoms or does not feel well.

Additional enhanced safety measures include, but are not limited to:

  • Routine cleaning of all high touch point locations.
  • Plexiglass barriers at concession stands.
  • New hand sanitizing stations and wipe stations throughout the venue.
  • Electrostatic disinfectant spray to sanitize all high touch surfaces and high traffic areas within the venue.
  • Touchless payment and ticketing procedures.
  • Needlepoint bipolar ionization technology, which delivers safer, cleaner air.
What changes can we expect to see at Bojangles Entertainment Complex?

Health and hygiene reminders are posted throughout the facility to remind our guests of best practices. Signage is also posted throughout the back-of-house reminding employees of their commitment to provide for their health and safety as well as that of our guests through frequent hand washing as well as proper sneezing and coughing etiquette to prevent the spread of germs.

Water fountains have been shut down to assist in our safety measures. Bottled water is available for purchase in our concession stands.

  • Boplex.com Website
  • Charlotte Checkers Website
  • Social Media Posts
  • Pre-Show Email
  • Onsite Signage

  • Scoreboard
  • Local News Outlets

Will hand sanitizing stations be provided?

Dozens of hand sanitizer stations are installed strategically throughout the building in high traffic areas including the lobby and concourses. The event management team has increased team members to specifically monitor soap/ sanitizer dispensers and refill as needed on event dates. Hand sanitizing stations have been placed in strategic, high-traffic front of house areas to ensure guests are never more than 65 feet away from a hand sanitizer dispenser or soap and water.

Are face coverings/masks required to visit Bojangles Entertainment Complex venues?

The Mecklenburg County mask mandate has been lifted as of 2/26/22. Masks are no longer required at Bojangles Coliseum and Ovens Auditorium, but requirements may vary on a show-by-show basis. As we navigate this ever-evolving health & safety landscape, please have patience with our Bojangles Entertainment Complex team members and your fellow guests.

How does the new air filtration system work?

Bojangles Entertainment Complex has integrated needlepoint bipolar ionization (NPBI) air purification technologies into its HVAC systems as another layer of protection to eliminate and neutralize disease-causing pathogens such as COVID-19. The complex and the CRVA are proud to offer this technology to create a safer, healthier environment for event attendees and the newly installed technology strongly complements the team’s already robust cleaning practices.

A proactive and preventative measure that’s often found in hospital settings, NPBI creates millions of positive and negative ions that form a cluster around harmful viruses, mold and bacteria molecules. These particles are disengaged and further broken down. The result is cleaner air and a healthier environment with less risk of infectious outbreak.

How will social distancing be enforced on site?

Social distancing and pod seating will no longer be in effect. Almost all of our events are opening up to full capacity.

Will temperature checks be administered?

Temperature checks are not mandated for guests through Bojangles Entertainment Complex health & safety guidelines. If mandated by the state and local jurisdictions or requested by the event/promoter, patrons will have their temperatures checked prior to entry, using an infrared thermometer, provided by Bojangles Entertainment Complex. Per CDC guidelines, patrons that register a temperature of 100.4 degrees or above will be further evaluated by onsite medical personnel. If a high temperature is confirmed, the patron will not be permitted to enter the BOplex.
