Mystic India: The World Tour coming to Ovens Auditorium May 20
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Jan. 31, 2018) – Ovens Auditorium will host "Mystic India: The World Tour" on Sunday, May 20 at 7 p.m. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online at Ticketmaster.com, by phone at 800-745-3000, at all Ticketmaster outlets or at the Bojangles' Coliseum Box Office located at 2700 E. Independence Blvd. Tickets cost between $32 and $112 (plus applicable service charges) and are subject to change.
"Mystic India: The World Tour" is an internationally acclaimed Bollywood dance spectacular based on the concept of ancient India's transition into modern India. Created in 2011 by the internationally acclaimed dance company, AATMA Performing Arts, the show has traveled to over four continents, visited more than seven countries, and has been seen by over 300,000 people in the last three years. The show features renowned musicians, brilliant dancers, breathtaking aerialists and acrobats, and over 750 opulent costumes. The colorful costumes and elaborate sets have been custom designed in India's film capital by a team of 40 designers and workers over the course of three years.
Over half a million people have seen "Mystic India: The World Tour" since its conception in 2011 through its successful tours in South Africa, Switzerland, Canada, Bahrain, China and various cities in the United States. The company has opened for Carrie Underwood in Las Vegas and performed at top venues including major casinos, amusement parks and performing arts centers. It is the first internationally touring Indian dance production headed by the USA-based dance company and the first touring Indian production that carries such a diverse cast of artists. City & Shore magazine voted it “The Must-See Show of the Season.”
Audiences can expect an explosion of colors and energy as they travel on a celebratory journey through Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, and even through the progression of Bollywood films via a stunning visual display that fuses dance, theater and spectacular special effects.
